Areva Resources about the DeviDrill

The Areva project in Canada has been running DCD operations continuously since 2004. The objective is to delineate a uranium deposit located at vertical depths between 600 and 800 meters below ground.
Before the DCD operations started the company had tried a variety of different mud motors without achieving the desired accuracy and efficiency. After changing to DCD the geologist calculated cost savings of 62% on average per hole, with a maximum of 87%, compared to drilling from surface.
